International Week 2024

Mittweida University of Applied Sciences and EURECA-PRO welcome students, administrators and academics from HSMW partner universities and their collaborators and internationalisation champions as well as everyone interested in integrating internationalisation in teaching, research and third mission activities to its 2024 International Week “Internationalisation for Sustainability”, which will be presented in collaboration with EURECA-PRO.

About the International Week 2024 in Mittweida

Join us in exploring the topic of "Internationalization for Sustainability" in innovative sessions, including panel discussions followed by fishbowl sessions, world cafés and workshops. You are encouraged to actively contribute to the program. During the event, there will be numerous opportunities to make new contacts in a wide range of activities:

  • World Café on innovation in internationalisation;
  • Interactive discovery of the university town Mittweida;
  • Anniversary celebration University Preparatory College;
  • Keynote and engagement on Research Internationalisation;
  • Movie night;
  • CF Music Clash;
  • Day trip to the historic city of Leipzig.

Key Objectives:

  • Exploring the link between internationalisation and sustainability;
  • Fostering innovation in internationalisation
  • Strengthening partnerships, and fostering new strategic collaborations;
  • Engaging on specific aspects of internationalisation, including mobility with children and double degree programmes;
  • Unpacking the impact of European University Alliances on internationalisation;
  • Providing a platform to exhange ideas, share experiences and network professionally;
  • Connecting researchers.

  • Movie Night: Der Mann, der nie im All war (The Man Who Never Went to Space):
    Documentary about the local space expert Tasillo Römisch, who has assembled the world’s largest private space exhibition with over 100 000 exhibits in the basement of his house in Mittweida. The protagonist will be joining us after the screening of the movie to engage with the audience.

    The HSMW is part of the European University for Responsible Consumption and Production EURECA-PRO.   • Cultural visit of Leipzig
    The HSMW international office will facilitate a cultural visit to Leipzig. The tour will include a visit to the Monument for the Battle of the Nations, a guided tour of the historic city center. Besides, sufficient time will be available to experience inner city shopping in the Leipzig’s cosmopolitan city center.
